Hi, I’m Dr. Laura. I started providing in-home euthanasia because I believe pets deserve to be surrounded by comfort, familiarity, and love at the end of their lives.
I understand how difficult this decision can be, and my goal is to support both you and your pet with compassion, honesty, and gentle care every step of the way.
Base Price for House call and Euthanasia Service is $425.00 for locations served and non emergent. Cremation is an additional fee.
How Do I Know It’s Time?
Deciding when to say goodbye is one of the hardest parts of loving a pet. Some signs to consider:
Ongoing pain that cannot be well managed
Difficulty breathing, walking, or eating
Loss of interest in favorite activities
More bad days than good
Services
Compassionate Consultation
We talk through your pet’s condition, options, and answer any questions you may have about in-home euthanasia. It can be difficult to know when the time is right. A quality of life assessment examination and the conversation that follows can help you better understand where you pet is in terms of pain, awareness or progression of other health conditions.
Comfort-Focused Care
We use medications and protocols designed to help your pet feel as relaxed and as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
In-Home Euthanasia
Performed in a calm, gentle, and respectful manner in the comfort of your home.
Cremation & Aftercare Options
What is Aftercare?: Aftercare simply refers to how your pet is cared for after they have passed. We will help guide you through your options and handle everything with compassion and respect.
Private Cremation: Individual cremation with ashes returned
Communal Cremation: Cremation with other pets; ashes not returned
Cremation services are provided by a trusted third-party provider, separate from the euthanasia fee. Fees are generally based on your pet’s weight, and timelines may vary.
For larger pets (over 45 pounds), we may ask for a small amount of assistance moving them to my vehicle. We will guide you through this step gently to ensure comfort and dignity.
What Is The Response Time?
Because every family and situation is unique, response times can vary depending on scheduling availability, travel distance, and where I am physically located while caring for other families throughout the day.
As a single-practitioner mobile veterinarian, I do my best to accommodate end-of-life appointments as promptly as possible during normal business hours. Please note that I do not provide weekend appointments or emergency on-demand services.
One of the most important things I encourage families to understand is that waiting until the very last moment is often not in the best interest of the pet. Pets can decline more rapidly than expected, especially overnight or over a weekend, and what begins as a manageable situation can quickly become a crisis involving pain, anxiety, breathing distress, panic, or the inability to safely transport or comfort your pet.
Many families hope their pet will “let them know” exactly when it is time, but in reality, pets often continue trying to stay present for their families even while they are suffering. Planning ahead before a crisis develops can allow for a calmer, more comfortable, and more peaceful experience for both you and your pet.
If you believe your pet may be nearing the end of life, I strongly encourage reaching out sooner rather than later — even if you are unsure about timing. Early communication allows us to discuss your pet’s quality of life, review scheduling options, and help avoid the emotional and physical distress that can occur when decisions are delayed until an emergency situation develops.
For families seeking immediate same-day or after-hours emergency response, a larger multi-doctor or corporate service may be better equipped to provide that level of availability.
No matter the circumstances, I will always do my best to guide and support you with honesty, compassion, and care.
What to Expect
What to Expect During the Visit
We will walk you through every step so you know what to expect:
Time Together: Space to say goodbye, ask questions, and share comfort.
Sedation: Medications help your pet relax and become sleepy.
Euthanasia Medication: Gentle administration while keeping your pet calm.
Aftercare: Guidance on cremation or other arrangements.
Gentle note:
Some natural reflexes (twitching, breathing changes, or vocalization) may occur. These are normal and do not indicate pain. We guide you through every step with compassion.
While every effort is made to provide a calm and comfortable experience, individual responses to medications can vary. Cremation services are provided by a third-party provider; timelines and processes may differ.
